Who Is Your God?
If you're a saved believer of God, there is something you need to ask yourself: who is your God? Not your parents' God or the God you read about in the Bible or the God you hear about in church on Sundays. Who is God, as seen through your eyes? What has He done for you? Who has He put in your path?
My God gave me a birthday present a few weeks ago, on my birthday. Anyone who knows me knows I raise rabbits, and I love them to bits. I had two pregnant rabbits, and one of them had a very high-risk pregnancy, unfortunately. She really should not have been able to have babies, medically speaking, but her litter and the other one was born perfectly healthy, on my birthday! It was just a small thing, but it was the perfect little miracle just for me. The little things do count.
So today as I reflect on the time God has given me on this Earth, I realize that I am fortunate enough to have those little moments, when it's just me and my Saviour, and I can just feel His presence. It's like a burst of radiant sunshine on a bitterly cold day; He envelops me in warmth and joy and love when I need it most. Usually those little moments don't make for exciting stories or shouts of exclamation or a message written in the sky, but I know they're from my God.
My God is the Author of my life's storyline, one that I hope to follow. He is my Rock, my Shelter from the storms that come. He is my Father who leaves loving messages and comforting promises in His Word like a mother leaves notes in her child's lunch box just to make them smile, usually when I need them the most.
The Lord has given me a Christian home, people to challenge my faith and people to build it up, encouraging friends, adorable pets, good health, lots of food, a wonderful home in a quiet, safe neighborhood, and talents that I can use for His glory. That's only the short list. My cup of blessings overflows every day; despite the problems I face, He always gives me more positives than negatives, whether I choose to see them or not. Remember in your struggles, He always, ALWAYS provides a way out, through scriptures, or prayer, or Godly counselors, somewhere, somehow, He will lead you through the darkness.
So, who is God to you? What has He done for you? Every day is an opportunity to thank Him for your blessings and rejoice in your opportunities. As a sinner saved by grace, I never want to forget what He means to me.
